Fox News Op-Ed: Atheists Are ‘Bullies’ Who Try To Force Their Beliefs On Others

"Atheists today are the most arrogant, ignorant and dangerous people on earth."

"There’s no polite way to say it. Atheists today are the most arrogant, ignorant and dangerous people on earth."

So begins Anthony DeStefano's op-ed for Fox News, throughout which he claims that atheists are responsible for the vast majority of humanity's suffering, wars, death, and destruction.

Adapted from his book, Inside the Atheist Mind: Unmasking the Religion of Those Who Say There is No God, DeStefano shares myriad examples of not only how terrible atheists have been all through history but also how today's atheists are bullies who try to force their beliefs upon others.

Atheists are "loud, nasty, unapologetic and in-your-face":

To cite a few recent examples: Last December, the group American Atheists launched its annual billboard campaign with the slogan: “Just Skip Church -- It’s All Fake News.” In February, the American Humanist Association became furious when President Trump had the gall to mention Christianity and Jesus Christ without also mentioning atheists—at the National Prayer Breakfast! (How dare he!) And just this month, the Freedom From Religion Foundation raised holy hell because the Reverend Billy Graham was laid out in state in the Capitol Rotunda before his burial.

DeStefano is displeased that atheists are championing the separation of church and state, and he is further annoyed that atheists are keen on suggesting to others that their beliefs might be foolish or misguided.

Atheists are ignorant:

Atheists believe that the vast majority of human beings from all periods of time and all places on the Earth have been wrong about the thing most important to them. They basically dismiss this vast majority as being either moronic or profoundly naïve. What they don’t seem to know – or won’t admit – is that the greatest contributions to civilization have been made, not by atheists, but by believers.

And speaking of pioneers of science, who do you think coined the term “scientist” in the first place? William Whewell, an Anglican priest and theologian! He also came up with words “physicist,” “cathode”, “anode” and many other commonly used scientific terms. Essentially, the very language used by scientists today comes from the brain of a believer.

Atheists are dangerous:

You bet they are. The truth is, the atheist position is incapable of supporting any coherent system of morality other than ruthless social Darwinism. That’s why it has caused more deaths, murders and bloodshed than any other belief system in the history of the world.

Because of this moral ineptitude and the secularization of American society, DeStefano says, atheists have ushered in abortions, suicides, homicides, and other forms of violence on a scale the United States has never seen.

[W]e are fast becoming accustomed to “killing” our problems rather than dealing with them in a compassionate, loving, and sacrificial way.

And with that, DeStefano rests his case: today's atheists are wretched creatures who in no way deserve the compassion, empathy, or understanding that Christians like DeStefano are so readily willing to offer.

So yes, the modern breed of atheist is arrogant, ignorant and dangerous. Too many books written in response to these pseudo-intellectual hatemongers have been altogether too nice. Too many Christian authors have tried to be kind and amiable in an effort to demonstrate that believers don’t have to sink into the mud in order to defend the faith. That tact is very charitable, but unfortunately, it just doesn’t work with bullies.

And that’s exactly what modern-day atheists are—bullies; bullies who are doing their best to intimidate the rest of us into silence.

Hannity is a dipshit. Atheists aren't attacking, they are defending against 1000's of years of Christian's persecuting everyone and threatening to take their lives and eternal torture after death if people don't believe their holy book and version of god. It's all fear mongoring tactics with religion.

Hannity disgusts Me.. I'd love to make him swallow his own bullshit, one page at a time.

It's a pity that this level of stupidity isn't as painful for the stupid person as it is for those with whom they share it.

I'm not an atheist nor a Christian or any other religion, but have also experienced discrimination from Christians for my beliefs. I'm more of a deist with shamanic leanings who believes in an impersonal higher power, the natural world, who has walked my own spiritual path for over 50 years. My beliefs also include the Ancient Astronaut Theory. I think all the 'gods' from religions, including the Christian god, were ETs with a very high level of technology who came here and basically set themselves up as gods. While I don't try to convert anyone to my beliefs, I don't hide either. I'm an ex-Christian who believes after years of independent reading about Christian history, that Jesus is a myth based on various older savior-godmen myths from religions that predate Christianity. I also believe all religions are frauds designed by the 'gods' to control and manipulate the human masses. And while I don't respect the dogma of any religion, I respect everyone's right to believe as their heart and mind dictate, as long as we maintain absolute separation of church and state, and religious folk stop trying to convert/save me .... which, unfortunately, Christians have tried many times over the years. A current coworker is discriminating against me because she insists I am an atheist because I'm not a Christian, even though I've corrected her several times. She has also started rumors that I'm an atheist. Whatever, in her eyes being an atheist is better then what I believe. Another Christian coworker periodically leaves Christian pamphlets near me ... hint hint ... but my atheist and Muslim coworkers seem to accept me as I am. And this is just what I'm currently experiencing, there's a whole 50 year history of hatefulness from 'good Christians'. If I was an atheist I'd be out of the closet, just like I'm out of the closet with what I do believe. I personally am much more comfortable around atheists and agnostics then I am Christians, because in my experience they are much more loving and accepting.

Evangelical's can no longer call themselves Christians. Fake cult! Distorting the Bible is sick. tRump is not a Christian and he's definitely not a Republican!!
